Investing in Erin’s Natural Legacy—Today and Beyond
Rotary Club of Erin donates $5,000 to Kickstart Tree of the Year Contest and Township Tree Audit

One of the candidates for Tree of the Year contest—the sugar maple located at the Wellington County Library in Hillsburgh.
A $5,000 contribution from the Erin Rotary Club is helping launch a new initiative that celebrates Erin’s mature trees while supporting important environmental planning.
The funding supports the inaugural Tree of the Year contest and a township-wide Tree Audit, delivered in partnership with the Town of Erin and the Erin Tree Trust chapter.
Together, these efforts form the foundation of the Erin Tree Project, focused on community engagement, education, and environmental stewardship.
“This is exactly the kind of project Rotary is proud to support,” said Nina de Vaal, President of the Erin Rotary Club. “It brings people together, encourages environmental responsibility, and creates lasting benefits for our community.”
